FACEBOOK LAUNCHING ITS OWN WEB BROWSER
WHATSAPP GOES 100% FREE
WhatsApp said it will stop charging $1 (67 INR) per year as a subscription fee, and will be completely free across the World, without any third-party ads for monetization by experimenting with new models to stay ad-free. WhatsApp initially asked some of its users to pay a fee for using WhatsApp after their first year but “found that this approach hasn't worked well". WhatsApp did not charge users for using the service in India, being one of the biggest markets for the service. Starting this year, WhatsApp will also allow its users to communicate with businesses and organisations through its platform "that could mean communicating with your bank about whether a recent transaction was fraudulent, or with an airline about a delayed flight."
