The Vigilance department in Odisha has now decided to receive graft complaints on the popular messaging app "WhatsApp"
The department will extend this facility to the public following the success of similar initiative on Facebook.
“People can lodge complaints directly to the vigilance department using WhatsApp and the new helpline service will be introduced within a week," said vigilance director K.B. Singh.
Singh said that after launching the Facebook page of the directorate in May this year, the department has received several complaints and so far six cases have been registered against erring officials.
